Project Sunset

Project Sunset, is a large interactive plywood cactus designed for an Embassy lobby
by mock up high end firm, The Chameleon. Through hypnosis, the sculpture
functions as a recruiting platform for the Mossad (the Central Institute for
Intelligence of Israel). Taking the form of a Sabra cactus as a metaphor for cultural
and ethnic displacement, it examines the characteristics and myth surrounding the
Israeli covert operations of the Mossad in relation to cultural imperialism. Project
Sunset examines effects of the freeflowing stream of information that is constantly
collected by government surveillance agencies. It plays with the omnipresent
collection of digital data that we unwittingly hand over in our daily, personal
lives.
